Ravnastua is 30 km from Karasjok. The first people to live at Ravnastua were around 1850.

Ravnastua mountain lodge was once established to be a shuttle station for the civil service.

 

Ravnastua is one of the stops on the trip between Karasjok and Alta.

In the old days it took a day from Karasjok to Ravnastua and then a day to the next mountain lodge (Mollisjok).

 

To get to Ravnastua you drive along the road from Karasjok. 13 km to Ássebákti, then it is17 km tractor road, ski trail or scooter trail.

Fjellstua has its own hydroelectric plant for lighting.
